Men are in quiet crisis.
Today’s culture paints masculinity as something to be erased, not redeemed. Across the globe, young men are silently struggling. Suicide rates for men are four times higher than for women. Depression, addiction, and loneliness are everywhere. Many young men no longer ask how to become men—they wonder why they should bother. A generation ago, we warned about fatherlessness. Now, we see young men not just unmentored, but untethered.
And yet, in this confusion, something powerful is happening: young men are returning to church—not for comfort, but for purpose. They long for a rugged, resilient faith rooted in strength, sacrifice, and brotherhood.
The Return of Muscular Christianity
This shift echoes the legacy of Muscular Christianity—a 19th-century movement that called men to courage, endurance, and service. Theodore Roosevelt called it “the strenuous life”—a call to become someone capable of bearing weight.
It’s a vision of manhood that says strength is not dangerous but essential; that the body is not a burden but a tool for mission.
Scripture offers three portraits of forged strength:
- Samson, whose final act of vision redeemed his failures.
- David, tender and tough, the poet-warrior after God’s heart.
- Daniel, whose strength roared in quite defiance and devotion.
These weren’t perfect men—but tested, obedient, and transformed for a purpose.
Why Men of Valor Exists
At MOV, we believe this is exactly the kind of strength God is calling men into today: resilient, humble, and rooted in faith. Men who can bear weight. Men who lead families. Men who build communities. This doesn’t happen by accident—it takes time, truth, and teaching lived out in brotherhood.
Join the Movement
God is raising up forged men across the globe—and we invite you to help us strengthen them. Your prayers and support fuel this work: equipping leaders, launching discipleship groups, and restoring the strength our culture has tried to tear down.
Let’s raise them—together.
Not just strong men. Whole men. Forged men. Men of valor..
What They Said
“MOV lessons have transformed my family…I have become a responsible, self-reliant man that my family is depending on. We also attracted 7 new men to join our church. I used Bao games, pool tables, and football … [and now] due to involvement of men in church, works there have become so much easier and enjoyable.”
-ALLAN M.
“I realized that I… had to do something as a man and earn a living and not just stay idle. Now I am doing a business of farming. I have been able to reach 9 new men and all the men in my church are now active…”
-BORNFACE M.
MOV Mission to Kenya 2025

From July 24 to August 12, Brad, Brian Moser, Tim Rooney, and Kenya pastors Stephen Njenga and Leonard Wampua will jumpstart men’s discipleship via three Men of Valor conferences across Kenya.
We’ll start in Eburru at Camp Brethren High School, mentoring young men in biblical manhood. Then we’ll equip 100+ pastors and leaders with practical tools for discipleship and outreach. Finally, in Umoja (Nairobi), we’ll train pastors, students, and laymen to multiply the message of Christ-centered manhood.
Your prayers and support fuels this mission. Thank you for standing with Men of Valor in 2025!
