Good husbands and fathers do not happen naturally.
Men of Valor is changing families and changing communities by changing men.
No man can live the Christian life alone and hope to succeed; every man needs another man at his side to face the battles of life. “Two are better than one...For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone..." (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).
Clearly, sustainable change and a life lived according to the Lord's principles and commands cannot be known or expected without the Word of God. Jesus said, “You don't know the Scriptures, and you don't know the power of God” (Matthew 22:29).
"And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers..." (Malachi 4:6). Could the Lord be saying that a right relationship between fathers and their children prepare the child’s heart for the work of Jesus in his or her life?
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her..."  (Ephesians 5:25 RSV). What does Christ do for His church? He leads it, protects it, provides for it, teaches it, calls His church his friend—and He sacrificed for it.

A Man of Valor

The Lord is with you; mighty man of valor; the mirror challenge.
1 Samuel 17; Judges 6:12; Matthew 28:20; Jeremiah 1:5; Ephesians 2:8-10; Lamentations 3:22-23; Philippians 1:6

Why Men?

The biblical model; man is the glory of God; women and children follow godly men; involved, active, engaged men grow the church.
Genesis 2:18-23; 1 Corinthians 11:7 (Genesis 34:29-35, Revelation 21:22-23); Judges 4:6-10; 1 Timothy 2:12; Acts 16:25-34; Genesis 7:1; Matthew 10:16-23; Mark 8:34-38; Proverbs 29:18

A Man of Valor Is a Man of the Word

A man’s heart is deceitful; guidance for real-world decisions; men of valor know the power of God; how to study the Bible; set aside time to study; read about the men in the Bible: a simple approach.
Proverbs 14:12; Jeremiah 17:9; Matthew 13:23; 2
Timothy 3:16-17; Matthew 22:29; Isiah 55:8-9

The Five Roles of a Husband and Father

Leader, provider, protector, teacher and friend = spiritual leader.
Ephesians 5:25-28,33; Malachi 2:5-8; 2 Chronicles 20:14-17; 1 Timothy 5:8; 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12; 1 Peter 5:8; Deuteronomy 6:6-7; 1 Peter 3:7

A Father of Valor

Turning the hearts of fathers to the children paves the way; a father of valor rejects passivity, accepts responsibility and looks ahead.
Malachi 4:5-6; Numbers 30:2-8,14; Genesis 3:6; James 4:17; Matthew 18:6; Proverbs 14:15,27:23

A Man of Valor at Work

God understands your work, has a purpose for it, shows how to
work, and uses it to train and provide for you. A man of valor’s work brings glory to God.
Exodus 31:1-6; Genesis 2:15; Colossians 3:22-24; Psalm 78:70-72; Luke 16:10; Proverbs 28:19; 2 Thessalonians 3:10; 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12; Proverbs 12:11; Proverbs 11:1; Genesis 39-41; 1 Corinthians 10:31

Men of Valor believes that if you can change the man you can change the marriage. That if you change the man you will change the family. That if you change the man, you will change the church, the community, the country... We believe change starts with addressing the root of the matter: The men. It’s unlikely that communities and countries will experience change in the long term if the men aren’t reached and discipled.

We want to see men become men of valor.

Why Men Don't Go to Church

Church feels like a place for women; churches teach to the women; men don’t feel needed; men don’t follow women; men follow men: godly, biblical, visionary men.
Matthew 10:22, 16:24-26, 24:13; Luke 9:62, 10, 13:24; 14:33, 22:33

Three Things Every Man Wants

Men want friendship, camaraderie; opportunities to grow and improve; a chance to make a difference, to do something that matters and impacts others.
Hebrews 3:12-13, 10:24-25; James 5:16; Titus 3:8; Ephesians 4:11-12; Matthew 4:4; James 1:25; James 1:27

Men of Valor Stand Together

Men of valor strive side by side for the Gospel; a man’s inclination to independence is not of God; men of valor stir up one another to love and good works; together, men achieve victory against overwhelming odds.
Philippians 1:27-28a; 1 Samuel 14,18,23:16; Ecclesiastes 4:9-10,12; Proverbs 27:6, 27:17, 18:24; I John 1:5-7; Proverbs 18:1; Hebrews 3:12-13, 10:24-25; James 5:16

A Legacy of Valor

Have nothing to do with evil; what is a man of valor; a decision; your impact – even after you die.
2 Chronicles 21; Psalm 101:4; Psalm 112; Joshua 24:14-15; Hebrews 12:1,2; 2 Timothy 4:7
