Blazing Trails in Malawi

Charles Mwase has added another region to his work of taking the MOV messages throughout Malawi!

Brad was able to join him and his team in February for a three-day conference in Blantyre.

Blantyre is the second largest city of Malawi and the country’s commercial hub. Interestingly, it was founded in 1876 through the missionary work of the Church of Scotland and is named after the birth place of missionary explorer David Livingstone.

Representatives from 44 different churches came, some even from far-away districts such as Zomba, Mulanje, and Mwanza. Fifty-eight pastors, 45 other church leaders, and 40 men who were members of the different denominations attended. They were shocked to see a large number of men gathering and discussing various men’s topics, and they said the teaching was found worthy. They participated with one accord, paying close attention and saying they had never heard those concepts before.

They also realized a need for evangelizing men in their communities and discussed among themselves the idea to start activities like football, tennis, and bawo to attract men and thereby slowly attract them to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Three men came to Jesus Christ, other men repented of their bad behavior in abusing their families, and twenty leaders agreed to start men’s groups and continue with men’s teaching in Blantyre.
